A RISING TIDE IN LOCAL BUSINESS- Unique directory brings people together
The Valenti Family of Dealerships, in conjunction with The Day Publishing Company, has launched Valenti’s List – a unique advertising opportunity for local businesses paired with a discount program for local residents and Day readers.
It’s a project born out of solidarity; out of the Valenti family’s desire to see the region rise on the collective strength of its talented entrepreneurs.
With seven dealerships in Westerly, Old Saybrook and Mystic, the fourth generation of the Valenti family continues to invest in the area and support a number of community programs for young people, veterans and the homeless.
The Valentis do much for their community. Now, they say, they want to do more to help their clients.
“America was built on small business. We’re getting out of this recession because of small businesses,” said Brian Gates, director of marketing at Valenti Auto Mall.
In 2014, roughly 1,100 small local business owners purchased their vehicles at a Valenti dealership.
“They’ve supported us and we’d like to help support them,” said Robert Valenti Jr., president.
The Valenti team knows their customers. Only about 12% of local small business owners, they say, can afford to conduct any sort of advertising.
Additionally, the day-to-day operations of running a small business often leave little time for marketing and promotion, Gates noted, and advertising efforts must be relevant and local to deliver results.
With four million pageviews and 665,000 unique visitors per month, theday.com is exclusively positioned to put local professionals on the radar of potential clients. By participating in Valenti’s List, business owners have a way to thoughtfully connect with their customer base in Rhode Island and Connecticut, through the region’s leading information provider. The Valenti Family of Dealerships covers the cost for List members to advertise in the special print and online directory.
HOW IT WORKS
Local small business owners who complete a vehicle purchase with the Valenti Family of Auto Dealerships have the option to join the List.
Valenti’s List is published as a separate section inside The Day newspaper every Saturday. Each weekly print section spotlights list members and features coupons, special offers and promotions, and a business card directory of local service providers.
The section’s companion website, www.valentislist.com, puts readers in touch with local experts, from agriculture to technology and everyone in between. Readers will find referrals to professionals in the fields of education, construction and home improvement, hospitality, dining, shopping, beauty and wellness, financial and legal services, health care, sports and recreation and real estate, among others.
THE VALENTI'S LIST SAVINGS CARD
Local business owners and their employees, as well as current members of The Day, are eligible for a free Valenti’s List Savings Card. This card entitles users to special discounts and offers at all the participating businesses on the List.
To obtain a card, employees of participating businesses should receive a form to fill out from their employer. Day members can register for a Valenti’s List Savings Card by logging into their Membership account on www.theday.com and completing the registration form. A card will be mailed to your residence. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery.
